Bruno and Giuseppina Arena arrived in Coburg from Italy in 1956, with their son Tony to a completely different land and culture. Together with Bruno’s brothers and parents, O'heas Bakery begun. Originally only selling bread via delivery van, Bruno wanted to create a specialty store for the local community. In the early 70's, Bruno and Giuseppina, along with their children took over the Bakery and decided to open up a shop, selling bread, milk and pasta. This evolved as Bruno continued to ask the community what they would like to see in his store. Many years later, this marvellous shop has evolved into what it is today, thanks to the support of the local community.
Our story
Even though Bruno & Giuseppina have since passed on, the legacy continues via their sons, the Arena Brothers. They continue to work hard to improve the store so it can maintain its iconic status among the community.
